Trust in Ideas

“ Wise men put their trust in ideas and not in circumstances. ”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Roots of Innovation

Innovation comes from lessons learned in the past for the future.

Write to Think

“I write to find out what I think.” -Stephen King

“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.” -Joan Didion

Hope

“We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wisdom

“We judge a man’s wisdom by his hope.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The person who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been before.

Creativity in living is not without its attendant difficulties, for peculiarity breeds contempt. And the unfortunate thing about being ahead of your time is that when people finally realize you were right, they’ll say it was obvious all along.

You have two choices in your life; you can dissolve into the mainstream, or you can be distinct. To be distinct, you must be different, to be different, you must strive to be what no one else but you can be.”

-Alan Ashley-Pitt

Clarke’s Three Laws are three “laws” of prediction formulated by the British writer Arthur C. Clarke.

They are:

1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Told to me by a friend that referenced Clarke’s Three Laws on Wikipedia.  I love the third one, MAGIC!!!
